The Elysian Lady

The Elysian Lady

If a friend genuine, I ever sought,
I would lend my ears to her voice,
If a comrade I needed when I chased colors,
It would be her with whom I would rejoice.
When the waves in my mind cheat all logic,
And the sun sets to never rise again,
The simplest words which grace her speech,
Rescue me from the world’s deepest den.

When tears wish to burn my cheeks,
And sorrow to conquer my heart,
When pain has decided I am its prey,
And together they tear my soul apart,
She takes me to a sweet green pasture,
And tailors my mind to accept sorrow,
She teaches me the art of friendship,
And to let go the worries of tomorrow!

When my words found not the ability to express,
The deepest secrets of my mind,
I knew she perceived to the furthest extent,
Those dear secrets of mine which not many could find
Friendship is only a gift divine,
That embraces the extreme inexpressible,
And in her I found it in great abundance,
In truth alone and not scattered syllables

When the winds defied all regularity,
And the stars cheated my human mind,
She told me a tale that stole my attention,
And to misery and pain turned me blind!
She is a friend I shall eternally cherish,
A treasure I have found which never I shall lose,
From the vaults of heaven the Elysian Lady,
Who offers a friendship which cannot be refused!

My words are worth not even the sand,
Which like a nomad wanders the Earth’s surface!
But the words I have writ I truly mean,
For with no honesty, I give no praise!
