Mary she lived two blocks away,
Perhaps the closest you'd see to an angel
Had her dreams arranged in a bouquet,
To pick and live them one at a time
She sailed her boat with the breeze of truth,
Exploring the river of righteousness
But as she arrived at the cross-waters of life,
She found herself victim to the sting of curiosity
Chose the diversion that seemed colorful,
Gleefully rowed and rowed her boat,
Put her chastity up for a price,
Accepting a culture that doomed character
Then her desires crept into her soul,
Her boiling ambition burning her mind
She sold her soul to the mundane world,
Drowning in the river of hopelessness!
Andy he lived two streets away,
Perhaps the smartest of created men
The ancient truth had caressed his heart,
How life was more than some social race
But no man wished to embrace his idea,
Rejection scourged the skin of his heart
So he put his faith in some strange leaf,
Smoked away his dreams and desires
Expanded his mind with some strange fruit,
Forgetting the walls that protected reality
Escaping the grasps of system and society,
To be lost forever in the forest of dreams
Years not many, hastily passed,
Trying to break the shackles of reason
Andy had sold his soul to his dreams,
Drowning in the river of hopelessness!
Gabrielle she lived in the room above,
A glowing lotus in the lake of love
Her heart could love like the heart of God,
Her eyes could heal the deepest scars
But those eyes were captured one weary morning,
By the sun-like glow of the golden metal,
By the hips she was grabbed by the hands of material,
Abused by the aggression of excess wealth
The want of her mind had escaped her will,
That burning need for all that glittered
Sold her virginity to some chauvinist fool,
Who held her in his fortress of wealth!
Her dreams had caught fire in the sky,
Came crashing down upon her desires
She had sold her soul to the diamond stone,
Drowning in the river of hopelessness!
